UN peacekeepers won't make Kiev withdraw weapons in Donbass, Ukraine prepares for war – Zakharchenko Primary tabs View
The possible deployment of UN peacekeepers on the demarcation line of the parties in Donbass will not contribute to the withdrawal of heavy Ukrainian weapons in the rear. Such an opinion was expressed by the DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko.
"We are ready to discuss with Kiev the conditions for deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission (in Donbass), but I think Kiev just wants to take the entire territory (DPR), take control of the borders, introduce troops here," he said. "Kiev must withdraw troops from the contact line, but it will never do this, no matter whether peacekeepers are stationed there or not. Kiev is preparing for war."
At the same time, according to the Head of the Republic, the Ukrainian party is accumulating weapons on the front, and regular attempts are made to break through the DPR defense line.
"These cases are of neither single nor chaotic character. This is a purposeful identification of weak points, combat reconnaissance," he stressed.
"The ideal option to part ways with Ukraine peacefully is independence (of the DPR), so that Kiev recognizes it. This is my personal opinion, and I think that our people support it. And then we will decide for ourselves how to live, with whom to be on friendly terms, which state to enter, it will be local residents’ personal decision," Zakharchenko summed up.
Let us recall that on September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to prepare a draft resolution to the UN Security Council on the introduction of peacekeepers in Donbass to ensure the security of the OSCE mission. The DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko in his turn stated that the Republic was ready to discuss this proposal.
