On 7 September 2018, during the celebrations of the Donbass liberation at Saur Mogila, we had the opportunity to interview a soldier who fought there in July 2014, when occurred the crash of the MH17 flight.
This soldier, whose nickname is ‘Som’, gave us important information about what he saw this day from the hill, but also about BUK missiles and Ukrainian warplanes.
He declared several times that the militia had no BUK system, but only MANPADS, and that if they would have had BUKs, they would have shot the Ukrainian warplanes which bombed them every day.
“Every day, a plane came here to bomb us. If we had a BUK system, we would not knocked him down? And they came here every day and bombed. And we did not shoot them once. We did not have any BUK at that time. There was nothing to shoot down the plane. We had portable anti-aircraft missile systems” - he stated.
“If we had at least one BUK. There are four missiles. This would be enough to bring down four airplanes” - he concluded.
Moreover he confirmed us that the area was surrounded by Ukrainian army. If a Russian BUK would have been in Pervomaïsky (just at 6 km from Saur Mogila), like pretended by the DSB and JIT, the Ukrainian Armed Forces could easily see and destroy it.
His answers are pure logic, and they highlight the lacks of the official investigation conclusions.
He also declared that he saw something shot from the north-west, but this rocket (or whatever it was), flew to the east and never went in contact with the MH17. The interesting point is that a Ukrainian BUK system was installed in this direction: in Zaroshchenskoye.
Moreover, confirming a lot of testimonies coming from civilians, he told us that, on 17 July 2014, like all the others days, Ukrainian warplanes were flying in the Donbass sky and shelled the Saur Mogila hill, which was in the hands of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) militia.

Aside from civilians’ testimonies, we have to remind our readers about the information which leaked last year about the presence of three Ukrainian warplanes in the Donbass sky, and the orders from SBU to hide this fact by silencing witnesses…
This is also confirmed by the sentencing in Ukraine of a man who had called his relatives in the DPR to tell them that warplanes were coming to bomb them on 17 July 2014.
The silencing of witnesses was confirmed by people living in Grabovo, who refused to testify in front of the camera about the presence of Ukrainian warplanes this day, because they knew people who did it, and never came back after they went to Ukraine to see their family!
If these warplanes have nothing to do with the crash, why Kiev is lying since the very beginning, pretending none of their warplanes were flying this day in the conflict area?
Why Ukraine pretends that they had no functioning primary radar in the area this day, while Eurocontrol (whose Ukraine is member of) claimed they never received a notification from Kiev about this disability of their radars (which Ukraine should have done). So either Ukraine lied to Eurocontrol, not mentioning their radars were out of service, or they lied to DSB and JIT. But in both cases, Kiev lied!!!
Moreover, during its press conference of this month, the Russian ministry of Defence provided a map of the Ukrainian radars which were active on 17 July 2014, in the conflict area. It is impossible that all these radar stations had no functional primary radar (based on the echo of the aircraft).
So Ukraine had primary radar data. Why did they not show it?
Answer: because these radars data would have shown that Ukrainian warplanes were flying and bombing the area this day, and perhaps even more (a secondary radar cannot see a warplane if his transponder is off, which is the case during war missions, but a primary radar will see it).
How the JIT can rely on such a “team member” to investigate and believe the proofs provided by a country which endlessly lies?
This question is more than ever relevant, now that the Russian ministry of Defence provided the proof that the BUK missile parts shown by the JIT were Ukrainian. Either this BUK is the one which shot down the MH17 and thus Kiev is guilty (which totally invalidates the official investigation, because the culprit participated to it), or Ukraine lied and provided this pseudo-evidence to JIT to falsely accuse Russia, thus definitely destroying the credibility of the investigation team.
In both cases, the official investigation credibility has been completely annihilated, and no normal court could use this material to judge anybody.
Meanwhile, the families of the victims are waiting for justice, more than four years after the disaster.
