Kiev Patriarchate supporters seize another church of Moscow Patriarchate

Representatives of the unrecognized Kiev Patriarchate (UOC-KP) seized a church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) in the village of Ptichya in the Rovno region. This was reported on Tuesday in the press service of the Rovne Diocese.

"We are sad to report that after the information on the official lifting of the arrest from the Holy Dormition Church in the village of Ptichya in the Dubensky district appeared on the evening of April 2, supporters of the Kiev Patriarchate seized the church by force," the report says. "About 23:50 cars with fighters of Aidar and Azov arrived at the church and with their help the dissenters in a few minutes pushed representatives of the community of the UOC-MP from the temple, threatening with weapons."

According to the diocese, two police squads were on duty at the scene, but they did not interfere in what was happening.

After 2014, when a coup d'état took place in Ukraine, the confrontation between the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarch and the schismatics of the Kiev Patriarchate, which is supported by radical nationalists, escalated in the country. Attacks on representatives of the UOC, desecration and attempts to destroy the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate have acquired a regular character.

So, only from the beginning of 2018 there were more than ten such cases. From the actions of vandals, the temples in the Odessa, Sumy, Kirovograd regions, as well as the Ukrainian capital, suffered.

Je suis athée, mais je suis contre ces coups de force contre quel que soit le lieu de culte, mais venant de ces groupes fascistes, on ne peut pas s’étonner.
